Stuart McKenzie has worked for the Department of Education as a Lead School Psychologist since 2012. Prior to this he was a Psychologist in Charge, a School Psychologist and Behavioural Consultant.
For the past 2 years Stuart has worked part time with over 80 Veterans and current serving members of the ADF across Australia. This work has primarily been through tele-health services and has been centred around 'mindfulness'.
In this time he has realised that a 'mindfulness' approach has fallen short for a lot of clients. Listening to meditations, flowing streams and sounding gongs has just not resonated.
As such he has developed an eclectic approach, drawing on a broad range of psychological frameworks and strategies based on each clients presentation and needs. This has translated into palpable and positive outcomes for clients.
Having suffered himself from bouts of depression, anxiety and panic across his life, he has lived experience. He is passionate about sharing this work with veterans and current serving members of the ADF and who ever wants some goodness.
Stuart operates his own private practice and engages Brave-Heart Psychology to provide business and administrative services to support the therapeutic and coaching work he provides to clients.
